2010 was a good year for The Drums, what with the Brooklyn band’s self-titled debut album affording them a degree of mainstream exposure to complement their extreme hipster cool. They return to Australia in the autumn for a nine-date jaunt around the island, with five shows as part of the Groovin’ The Moo regional festival. It all starts on April 29th in Melbourne and ends in Bunbury on May 14th.
The tour will be the band’s first time down under without guitarist Adam Kessler, who left the band in September. The band decided to carry on as a three-piece with Tom Haslow filling in on live duties.
The Drums were last in Australia in August 2010, and since then have had their debut album lauded as one of the finest of last year. Expect established favourites as well as the possibility of new material.
