The Gloom In The Corner Announce New Album ‘Royal Discordance’, Drop Ferocious New Single

Melbourne’s agents of heavy chaos The Gloom In The Corner have returned to detonate souls with the announcement of their third full-length album Royal Discordance, arriving Friday 27th February 2026 via SharpTone Records.

And because Gloom don’t believe in easing anyone into anything, they’ve unleashed a brand-new single alongside it: the theatrical metalcore fistfight ‘Angel’s Wrath Whiskey’.

“‘Angel’s Wrath Whiskey’ lives up to its namesake,” the band say. “The first four shots are great, but too much of it will have you breaking down as hard as the end of the song.”

The single explodes from the first second with whiplash drums, swirling synth panic, and razor-blade guitars before swelling into one of the most anthemic choruses the band have ever written. It’s cinematic, chaotic, and completely unhinged in the best way possible; a perfect teaser for what’s shaping up to be Gloom’s most ambitious era yet.

Royal Discordance packs 12 tracks of pure cinema-core carnage, the kind of album that sounds like it was built to soundtrack a prestige anime boss battle.

Expect everything from razor-edged destruction (previous single ‘Assassination Run’) to sinister slow-burners (‘Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)’), gleeful chaos (‘You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won’t Like Me Now)’), and a devastating two-part finale designed to spiritually floor you (‘Love 1: A Quaver Through the Pale’ and ‘Love 2: A Walk Amongst the Poppy Fields’).

Recorded in Nashville with producer Jonathan Delese in 2024, the album sees Gloom push their sonic universe even further – blending MCR-level theatricality, pit-ripping breakdowns, and their signature lore-heavy storytelling into something bigger, darker, and weirder than ever.

“This album is a concoction of chaos and revelry,” the band explain. “A battle of light versus darkness, much like the story and themes covered in the record. If you really thought we were going to do Trinity for a second time, guess again.”

Over nearly a decade, The Gloom In The Corner have carved out one of the most immersive worlds in modern metalcore, firing off releases like Fear Me (2016), Homecoming (2017), Flesh & Bones (2019), Ultima Pluvia (2020) and their critically adored 2022 opus Trinity.

Right now, they’re tearing through Europe with Aviana, and in 2026 they’ll be bringing the chaos to the completely sold-out Hellbound Cruise alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris, Northlane and other heavyweights.
