Have you placed your Hottest 100 votes for this year yet? Well, in one of the most overwhelming years yet for voters, triple j has revealed that the race between #1 and #2 is extremely close.
Yup, there’s less than 350 votes separating the two frontrunners of the national countdown. You know what that means… every vote counts.
The national youth broadcaster has also revealed that there are 63,000 voters with their shortlists sitting and waiting to be culled and submitted.
There are three key contenders in the Hottest 100. Spacey Jane with ‘Booster Seat’, Glass Animals with ‘Heat Waves’, and Ball Park Music with ‘Cherub’.
Tame Impala, Flume, Mallrat, and G Flip are all still very much in the running though, according to Warm Tunas.
Triple j reckon they haven’t seen a countdown this close since 2007. Only 14 votes separated Muse and Silverchair, but Muse beat out ‘Straight Lines’ with ‘Knights of Cydonia’.
Voting closes Monday, 18th January at 3pm AEDT. Submit your votes here.
