The Rions Drop ‘Badass’ New Song ‘Sweet Cocoon’, Announce National Tour Dates

The Rions are kicking off a fresh chapter with the release of a gritty new single dubbed ‘Sweet Cocoon’ and a celebratory Australian headline tour to boot.

“Our new track Sweet Cocoon is an ode to bitterness,” The Rions shared about their new musical offering in a press statement. “There’s something beautiful about changing who you are in order to distance yourself from who you were, and we attempted to capture that in this song.”

They continue: “We hope you can scream it at the top of your lungs as a ‘f*ck you’ to that certain someone or something in your life. Whether you need a cocoon right now, or you’re already as badass as you want to be, ‘Sweet Cocoon’ will make you sure of it.”

The song follows on from the release of The Rions’ debut EP Minivan, which arrived last year. You can take the song for a spin up above.

The Rions will be hitting the road this May, playing a stack of 18+ dates in Freo, Melbourne, Hobart and Canberra, plus Licensed/All Ages shows in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney, with support from Melbourne pop trio Blusher and New Zealand act Park Rd.
