Hip hop visionaries The Roots have announced they will be performing a cheeky run of sideshows while in town for Falls Festival 2013, announcing shows for both Sydney and Melbourne.
For four years now, The Roots have held the position of house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, so put them in a headlining slot and The Roots are sure to unleash a live show of epic proportions. Known for remaining totally unbound to structure during their performances, you can be sure these shows will be a totally unique experience.
Having released a string of albums since 1987, each more progressive and experimental than the last, the band has decades worth of material to dig up, including cuts from their seminal major label debut Do You Want More? and perhaps some of the gems featured on their recent Elvis Costello collaborative album Wise Up Ghost.
Joining the troupe for their extra curricular activities will be our very own hip hop visionary Urthboy, and the news of sideshows couldn’t have come any sooner with word coming through this morning that the Byron Bay leg of the festival has completely sold out – keep up on our Sideshows Feed if you’re already feeling the FOMO.
Tickets available via Frontier Members pre-sale from Tuesday, 8th October 2pm AEDT to Wednesday, 9th October 2pm AEDT. General public on sale from Thursday 10th October 9am local time.
