Dust off the band tees and prepare for a proper turn-of-the-millennium throwback – The Superjesus are hitting the road in 2026 to celebrate 25 years of their classic album, Jet Age.
The Aussie alt-rock mainstays will take the seminal 2000 record across the country this June, performing the album in full alongside a stack of their greatest hits – meaning fans can expect a healthy dose of nostalgia along with the band’s trademark arena-sized hooks.
The Superjesus – ‘Gravity’
For those who came of age in the late ’90s and early 2000s, Jet Age was a big moment. Arriving two years after the band’s breakout debut Sumo, the record saw The Superjesus level up both musically and commercially, debuting at #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart and eventually going platinum.
It also delivered some of the band’s biggest tracks, including Gravity, Secret Agent Man, Enough To Know and Second Sun – songs that quickly became staples of Aussie rock radio and festival stages alike.
Frontwoman Sarah McLeod has reflected on the pressure surrounding the album at the time, coming off the huge success of Sumo and the departure of founding guitarist Chris Tennent:
“We felt so much pressure going in to make ‘Jet Age‘ because of the success of ‘Sumo‘ and the departure of our founding member. We needed to prove to ourselves that we could stand on our own two feet without him.
I was terrified the magic pathway to creativity would be broken – but it was not broken at all. It was actually strengthened by fresh collaborations with new guitarist Tim Henwood.”
Henwood himself remembers the era fondly, particularly the moment that led to the album’s lead single, Gravity:
“Our very first co-writing session together became the album’s first single. I’m incredibly proud of Jet Age and grateful to have been part of The Superjesus story.”
The anniversary tour arrives during something of a renaissance period for the band. In 2025 they released their self-titled fourth album – their first full-length in more than two decades – which debuted inside the ARIA Australian Albums Top 10, proving the appetite for The Superjesus is still very much alive.
Now, they’re revisiting the album that helped define their early years – and bringing a new generation of band members along for the ride.
For guitarist Cam Blockland, the record carries some particularly personal nostalgia.
“I actually grew up with ‘Jet Age‘ without even realising I’d one day be playing it. I used to listen to it on drives with my dad in his ute when I was in high school… these songs are wired into my brain.”
Joining The Superjesus across the run will be Sydney rock outfit The Art and New Zealand’s The After, rounding out what’s shaping up to be a very healthy dose of loud, sweaty Australian rock nostalgia.
So if Gravity once soundtracked your late-night drives, your Discman era or a particularly dramatic teenage breakup, consider this your sign.
