Texan metal outfit The Sword have cancelled their upcoming (and previously rescheduled) 2018 Australian tour, and have also announced their hiatus.
The heavy four-piece were set to hit up Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, initially in September, but later postponed the tour, rescheduling for October.
The group have now cancelled the rescheduled tour, breaking the news to fans on Facebook and explaining that while the Australian dates are cancelled, their hiatus will only commence following their early October shows around the US.
“After 15 years of nonstop recording and touring, The Sword will take a hiatus following their U.S shows at the beginning of October,” said the band.
“The Australian tour scheduled for the end of October has been cancelled. The band apologizes to their Australian fans, but feel it is time for a breather.”
The Sword’s Australian tour promoter DRW Entertainment is yet to release a statement, but ticket-holders can expect refunds.
The band’s Australian tour was to be in support of their sixth studio album Used Future, and would have been the Soundwave alumni’s first time on our shores since 2016.
