In order to meet overwhelming demand, The War On Drugs have announced the addition of two new shows to their upcoming series of Meredith Music Festival sideshows. Having quickly sold out the first three nights of their December tour, tickets for second shows in Melbourne and Sydney are now on sale.
Taking place at 170 Russell in Melbourne and Sydney’s Metro Theatre, the group will be supporting their rapturously received third album, Lost In A Dream. The album was singled out by Aunty Meredith as her favourite of the year so far and has garnered high acclaim from numerous taste-making outlets.
Much of the acclaim has been centred on both the development in the band’s songcraft and musicianship, as well as their overall maturation since their first two long-players, 2008’s Wagonwheel Blues and 2011’s Slave Ambient. Lost In A Dream is the best The War On Drugs have ever been.
The brainchild of enigmatic frontman and songwriter Adam Granduciel, the band have received equal acclaim as a live outfit. Racking up sold-out tours and prestigious festival spots around the globe, Australian fans won’t want to miss their chance to witness the band at their creative zenith.
