M83‘s ‘Midnight City’ may have been released almost ten years ago, but it has only gotten better with age. Hitting #22 on triple j‘s Hottest 100 of the Decade, it has managed to stand the test of time and sound even fresher and even more festival-ready than it did upon its release.
But, TikTok user Teo Domani – a self-proclaimed ‘CEO of mashups’ – has somehow managed to incorporate an integral part of The Simpsons into the timeless song seamlessly.
Specifically, Domani has taken the laugh of Nelson Muntz – one of the show’s most iconic phrases – and pitched it up so it almost perfectly matches the equally iconic vocal samples that can be heard throughout the entirety of ‘Midnight City’.
It is almost too good to be true.
