This Will Destroy You have announced their return to Australia, undertaking a five-date capital city run in April 2025. The freshly-announced dates are part of the American post-rock band’s world tour celebrating 20 years together, and will see them perform their self-titled debut album from 2008 in its entirety. A full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
Joining the band for all dates of their 2025 tour are Perth’s Yomi Ship and Sydney’s Mowgli. The former are an instrumental post-rock trio, who released their third album Feast Eternal in June 2024, while the latter are an emo/alternative quartet who are planning the release of their debut album in 2025. Due to the constrained time period within which This Will Destroy You will be in Australia, the five shows will take place across a five-day period from Tuesday, April 22nd to Saturday, April 26th.
This Will Destroy You – ‘New Topia’
The tour will mark the band’s third time in Australia, having previously toured in 2013 and 2015. The 2013 tour was a headlining run, supporting their then-most recent album Tunnel Blanket, while their 2015 return was as main support for sleepmakeswaves. Since they were last in Australia, This Will Destroy You have released a further three studio albums: the two-part New Others in 2018, and Vespertine in 2020.
This Will Destroy You was originally released in January of 2008. Songs from the album were used frequently in films throughout the 2010s – including World War Z, Moneyball and Room. Although the band have never officially released their music as singles, the album is home to their two most popular songs: ‘The Mighty Rio Grande’ and ‘They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light’.
