To No-One’s Surprise, Dave Grohl Supports Phoebe Bridgers’ SNL Performance 100 Per Cent

Phoebe Bridgers‘ Saturday Night Live guitar smash continues to be a point of discussion for the internet – for whatever reason – but Foo FightersDave Grohl has shared his complete support of her.

As reported by Consequence Of Sound, Grohl took to The Howard Stern Show earlier this week, and was asked about Bridgers’ stint on SNL, where she smashed her guitar in the final moments of her performance of Punisher closer ‘I Know The End’.

“I saw that performance — I actually talked to my mom about it,” he said.

He said his mother asked him, “What did you think about that girl Phoebe?” to which he responded, “she’s got a beautiful voice, she can really sing.”

“When you watch us jam and freak out and do our thing,” he went on, “I think that’s what they did.”

Comparing the performance to his days in Nirvana, “It was every fucking night. My drums had holes in them from Kurt fucking chopping my drums.

“I’ve seen enough smashed guitars. It feels fucking good to do it.”

More than a few people on the internet had a big whinge about the guitar smash in question, including David Crosby who Bridgers called a “little bitch”, but there were some absolute killer responses which you can view here.

As for Foo Fighters, they just dropped their most recent album Medicine at Midnight. In our review of the album, we said, “Medicine at Midnight is a genuinely refreshing return to form for the Foo Fighters, one that challenges the conventions of their signature sound by broadening the scope of their stadium rock ambitions.”

And, in case you haven’t seen the performance in question, watch it below.
