Toe Announce First-Ever Australian Tour For October 2024

Toe have announced their debut tour of Australia, after 24 years as a band. The three-date tour will take place in October of 2024, and will see the Japanese post-rock band performing in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. A full run of dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.

While they are in the Australasia region, the band will also visit New Zealand – again, for the first time in their two-decade career. This will include a show at Galatos in Auckland on Tuesday October 22nd and a Wellington show the following day at Meow. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, June 7th, via Valhalla Touring.

The band will be touring Australia in support of their fourth studio album Now I See The Light, which is set for release in July. It marks the band’s first album in nine years, following their 2015 effort Hear You. They will be joined on all Australian dates by instrumental Sydney band Dumbsaint.

Toe – ‘The Latest Number’

In a press statement, Dumbsaint drummer Nick Andrews expressed his gratitude at being able to tour with Toe – a band he considers hugely influential in the musical direction of his own. “In 2008, our first and only singer had quit the band,” he said. “Unsure of how to best move forward, I suggested we embrace the idea of going instrumental with the songs we had already written.

“Collectively unsure that this idea would work, it wasn’t until I walked into Egg Records and heard Toe’s The Book About My Idle Plot on a Vague Anxiety playing over the PA that everything fell into place. Instantly captivated by their storytelling and musicianship, Toe’s discography became a gateway – providing us with a blueprint to aspire to. And here we are, 16 years later.”
