Today’s tour guide features national dates from a bunch of talented local acts, including Brisbane five-piece Art Of Sleeping, Melbourne folk-pop duo Pierce Brothers, Sydney foursome Bootleg Rascal and Melbourne quintet Total Giovanni.
Art Of Sleeping ‘Voodoo’ National Tour
Dew Process signees Art Of Sleeping have just released a new single Voodoo and they’re heading out on a lengthy national tour to test out the song on live audiences. We’re still waiting on the band’s much-anticipated debut, but we are willing to bet that they will be testing out a few new songs while on the Voodoo National Tour.
As an added bonus, the Brisbane band are taking Adelaide crooner Jesse Davidson and Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Sunbeam Sound Machine out on the road with them. Together the three of them paint a great picture of the future of Australian alternative music.

Pierce Brothers ‘Winter Is Coming: We’re Off To Europe’ National Tour
Pierce Brothers — that’s twins Jack And Pat — have now signed a deal with another group of brothers, Warner Bros., and are readying a new EP which will only be sold on the pair’s Australian tour this April/May.
The two-piece, who started off busking on the streets of Melbourne, have announced a set of seven Aussie headline shows for before they relocate to Europe for summer. The tour will see support slots from Melbourne band Woodlock and solo musician Tash Sultana.
On the new music front, Pierce Brothers have been spending time in the studio with producer Jan Skubiszewski, but haven’t revealed too much about their next project. View the pair’s Australian tour dates, below.

Bootleg Rascal National Tour
Bootleg Rascal have just announced that we can expect an album in September, but they’ll be stepping out of the studio to head out on a quick jaunt around the country before that. The rockers sold-out a bunch of shows in Sydney and Melbourne early this year and are now treating us to a few more to tease some of their new material and jam-out to some already established favourites.
The attitude-heavy Oh I Know has been doing the rounds on triple j of late, cementing their spot as an Aussie band to watch this year. Bootleg Rascal’s live shows ooze confidence far beyond what is expected from a band early on in their career. If you haven’t witnessed it yet, these latest tour dates are your chance.

Total Giovanni ‘Paradise/When We Break’ East Coast Tour
Hot on the heels of successful festival spots at The Secret Garden (NSW) and Golden Plains (VIC), Melbourne quintet Total Giovanni are polishing their jewels and taking a sojourn up the East Coast of Australia to celebrate the release of new jam, Paradise, and upcoming single, When We Break.
The four-date mini-tour will have the heartbreak housers gracing stages across Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as stopping in for a DJ set at Bendigo’s sold out Groovin the Moo festival. The group’s Wollongong date at Waves’ Parkside will also see them share the stage with one third of Jagwar Ma (Jono Ma).
Having built a reputation on whipping small music venues into what the group themselves describe as “wild bacchanalian frenzies”, the purveyors of Shamanic Disco are not only bringing their poly-rhythmic jams, strange clothing and liberated masculinity to venues across Australia’s East Coast, but also directly into our own living rooms, with two brand spanking new singles being released via Melbourne label, Two Bright Lakes.
Feast you ears on their first of the pair, Paradise, below.
