Van She have announced their first string of shows this July in support of their forthcoming new album Idea of Happiness. The tour will see them play headline shows across 9 dates, starting off in Perth on the 5th, which also happens to be the eve of the album’s release. Sydney band RüFüS will support them on most dates.
The lead single from the album, also titled Idea of Happiness, has been getting high rotation at triple j, and over 150,000 streams on SoundCloud and Youtube since its release in April. Now they’re readying the second single Jamaica, which takes the sound of Idea of Happiness out to the end of the jetty and kicks if off the edge and into the tropical depths.
Idea of Happiness was recorded, engineered and produced by the band in their Kings Cross studio, which allowed them the time to fine-tune their synths. Mixing was done in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer, who is best known for his work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and M83.
