Keeping Sydney’s cultural fires ablaze at the start of winter, Vivid Sydney have announced the lineups for this year’s installments of Studio parties in honour of Vivid Live 2013. This year, Future Classic, Goodgod Danceteria!, Astral People and Club Kooky have all been invited to host an event at the Sydney Opera House venue with each announcing their studio party lineup today.
First up on Saturday, 25th May will be Future Classic who have tagged UK beatmaker Lapalux to headline their showcase with Norway’s hip-hop/house fusionist Cashmere Cat and Van She-founder Michael Di Francesco’s Touch Sensitive also performing on the night. Future Classic are repeat offenders at Vivid LIVE and 2013 looks to be bringing back the same standards we’ve come to expect from them.
Goodgod Smallclub are planning big things for their showcase Goodgod Danceteria! happening on the following Friday, 31st May. Their sophomore year at Vivid will be championed by viral sensation RiFF RAFF, alongside The DJ Rashad & DJ Manny Show, west-coast rap prodigy 19-year-old 100s with Goodgod mad dogs Pelvis and Levins.
This will be the maiden year at Vivid for Astral People, but they no that’s no excuse to start small, bringing Detroit’s acid-house-techno mastermind Omar S, British drum ‘n’ bass don Jon Convex, Dro Carey, Cliques and more to The House for a totally next level event on Saturday, 1st June.
Club Kooky will be celebrating their 18th birthday this Vivid and it seems everyone wants in. As per the press release, their showcase featuring Seymour Butz and DJ Gemma has totally sold out.
