Void of Vision Return with New Single ‘The Lonely People’

Melbourne metalcore outfit Void of Vision have returned with their first new original music since 2019 album Hyperdaze, sharing new single ‘The Lonely People’.

It’s a characteristically intense cut from the band, razor-sharp guitars and absolutely pummelling rhythms underscoring frontman Jack Bergin’s reflections on his mental health in 2020, being part of a music industry that remains in crisis, and finding connection and community through the shared experience of the pandemic.

“‘The Lonely People’ is a song for musicians by musicians. For the first time in my life as a musician I was sharing the same experience as so many other artists, strangely connected and suffering simultaneously,” Bergin explains.

“Through the extremely isolating timeline that really just had no end in sight, with setback after setback, the insane desire to create and perform reached new unearthly levels. I feel like we’re witnessing a rebirth of so many calloused individuals that were faced with an impossible adversity.

“The past year has left us all with this insatiable appetite and an unspoken bond formed between the entire music community. We’re all willing to do anything we can to bring our art back into frame, and deep down know that we’re not alone there.”

Alongside the single comes the news that Void of Vision have been forced to reschedule their forthcoming Australian headline tour with Deadlights and The Gloom in the Corner. Originally set to kick off this month, the run of shows will now commence in January of next year, with dates in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth locked in.

Earlier this year the band released Hyperdaze (Redux), a reimagining of their 2019 album that featured guest collaborators on each track, including the likes of Polaris‘ Jamie Hails, Jon Deiley from Northlane, Thornhill‘s Jacob Charlton, Ecca Vandal and more.
