WAAX are gearing up for the release of their debut album later this year, and today they’ve given us another taste of what that album will sound like with new single ‘I Am.’
Along with the new single, the band have announced an accompanying tour that’s sure to sell out bloody fast.
The song is delicate, intimate and heartbreakingly vulnerable, but still packs the searing energy we’ve come to expect from and love about the band.
Speaking to triple j yesterday, lead singer Maz Devita said that the song is about something that all too many of us can relate to.
“[It’s] about losing your sense of self,” Maz said.
“About wanting to please someone so much that you forget who you are in the process.”
