In what’s likely to be the first of many tributes to the late, great David Bowie to come out of today’s Grammy Awards celebrations, a one-off Supergroup has formed to honour the fallen Starman with a cover of one of his most iconic tracks.
During legendary record producer Clive Davis’s annual Grammy’s pre-gala in Los Angeles, the surviving members of Nirvana (Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear) joined forces with Beck to perform an allstar rendition of The Man Who Sold The World.
Nirvana famously covered the song for their MTV Unplugged performance back in 1993 (FYI the manky green cardigan that Kurt Cobain wore during the session recently sold at auction for a modest AUD$200,000).
Check out that performance, alongside fan-shot footage of Beck & Nirvana’s latest tribute to David Bowie, below.
