But for reals, Florence + The Machine and Final Fantasy may seem like an odd matchup at first, but the combined powers of their collective awesomeness will leave you with a serious case of the all-over goosebumps.
The brand spankin’ new trailer for the Final Fantasy XV game, dubbed Reclaim Your Throne, has just arrived, and it’s packing an eerily beautiful cover of Ben E. King’s classic Stand By Me by everyone’s favourite ginger songstress as its soundtrack.
“I’ve always seen Final Fantasy as mythical, beautiful and epic,” Florence Welch said in a statement.
“Stand by Me is one of the greatest songs probably of all time and you can’t really improve on it, you just have to make it your own.”
“For me it was just about bringing the song into the world of Florence and the Machine and the world of Final Fantasy,” she said.
The Final Fantasy XV trailer also features original compositions from iconic video game composer Yoko Shimomura.
The latest instalment of the beloved RPG series lands on September 30th.
