Foo Fighters closed out their 2018 Australian tour in Melbourne on Tuesday night, and used the show to cover the KISS classic ‘Detroit Rock City’ with Rivers Cuomo from Weezer, who opened for Dave Grohl and co. throughout the tour.
Footage of the cover (below) shows Grohl telling the crowd at Etihad Stadium, “We thought, last night of the Australian tour, we do something fucking special for you.
“Are you ready Rivers?” Grohl asks, to which Rivers replies, “I’m ready to rock.”
Foo Fighters’ Melbourne show also left some fans fuming after long queues led to the start of the concert being delayed.
The show was the final date on Foo Fighters’ 2018 Australian tour, which also included gigs in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney.
The Perth show also saw Grohl shut down a fan who rushed the stage, while the band’s Brisbane concert saw him invite a fan up onto the stage to play guitar on ‘Monkey Wrench’.
