Watch: The Ghost Inside’s First Band Practice Since Their Tragic Bus Crash Is So F*cking Touching

Two-and-a-half years ago, The Ghost Inside were involved in a tragic fatal tour bus accident that claimed the life of both vehicles’ drivers and horrifically maimed multiple members of the band.

The road to recovery since then has been long and arduous, with drummer Andrew Tkaczyk losing his right leg, guitarist Zach Johnson undergoing more than ten surgeries to heal a number of serious injuries, and vocalist Jonathan Vigil recently undergoing ankle fusion surgery in a bid to learn how to walk again.

So now, to see the lads come together to complete their first band practice since the terrifying crash took place, is just so. fucking. emotional.

The Ghost Inside took to Facebook Live on April 17th to share the huge milestone with fans and  “hang out” while they set up the rehearsal space. But, as bassist Jim Riley explained, they didn’t show the actual jam sesh because “Lord only knows what’s it going to sound like”.

Guitarist Zach Johnson also shared a picture of the prac on Twitter, writing “After 2+ years, this is the best feeling I’ve ever had. Thank you to everyone for sticking with us.”

WE’RE NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING.

Prior to the jam, the Californian moshcore legends also took to Facebook for a three-hour Q&A session celebrating the ten-year anniversary of their epic debut, Fury And The Fallen Ones, further proving that they’re back firing on all cylinders.

“2.5 years ago everything about this band hit the pause button,” they tweeted the next day. “Last night, together, we finally pushed play. No crazy secret announcements, just the first step of a journey that we hope you will continue to share with us.”

The Ghost Inside were forced to cancel their 2015 Australian Big Ass Tour dates with The Amity Affliction, A Day To Remember and Motionless In White following the tragic crash.

Now that they’re back in the rehearsal room, hopefully it won’t be too long before we see them return down under to rock our socks once again.
