Watch Interpol’s First TV Performance Of ‘The Rover’

Interpol have just announced their sixth studio album Marauder, and released new single ‘The Rover.’ Now, that single has received its television debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Dressed in suits and looking as suave as possible, the band came for business but gave us pleasure in the performance, which is really the first time we’ve heard ‘The Rover’ in an even remotely live setting.

Marauder is the band’s first album since 2014’s El Pintor, and sees the band work with a producer for the first time since 2007’s Our Love To Admire.

In a surprise press conference about the album in Mexico City earlier this week, frontman Paul Banks gave us an idea about what Marauder is about.

“This record is where I feel touching on real things that have happened to me are exciting and evocative to write about,” he says.

“I think in the past, I always felt autobiography was too small a thing for me to reference. I feel like now, I’m able to romanticise parts of my own life.”

Watch the performance on Colbert below. Marauder is out Friday, 24th August.
