Johnny Depp recently took the stage with Aerosmith during the final encore of the legendary group’s hometown Boston gig. The actor churned out a mean solo and engaged in some duelling with guitarist Joe Perry during the band’s rendition of the blues standard Train Kept A-Rollin’.
As Rolling Stone reports, a friend of the band, Depp previously joined the hard rock veterans on stage to help them perform the same song back in 2012 during a show at the Hollywood Bowl. Earlier that year, he made an appearance on the group’s album Music From Another Dimension.
And it’s not just Aerosmith who give props to Depp’s skill with a six-string. The actor has previously joined icons like Willie Nelson on stage, as well as The Black Keys, Alice Cooper, and Marilyn Manson, while on record he’s contributed guitar to a track by departed Britpop gods Oasis.
