Watch Odette Transform AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ Into A Classical Masterpiece For Triple J Like A Version

Odette has delivered a stunning Like A Version this morning. Stepping outside of her typical musical style, she’s taken on AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’.

Odette has traded in the fuzzy guitars for her piano and a cello, and those thrashing drums for a breezy kettle drum beat.

Of course, the textbook acca dacca vocals have also been traded out too, for Odette’s signature, soaring vocals.

The cover is totally different to the original yet keeps all the power and all the energy of the original. It’s a super special, significant Ausmusic Month Like A Version.

On the cover, Odette shared how she used to listen to the track on her way to school back in the day. “It just made me feel kind of powerful and strong.”

In the Behind the Like A Version portion of the segment, she discusses the textures and their balance really beautifully. Watch it down below.

She also delivered a performance of her original ‘Dwell’.

Odette is no stranger to taking Aussie classics into the Like A Version studio. Back in 2018, she delivered a stunning cover of Gang Of Youths’ ‘Magnolia’.

You can catch her AC/DC cover, her original ‘Dwell’, and her Behind the Like A Version interview below.
