Watch: Parody Of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ‘Thrift Shop’ Dubbed ‘Game Shop’

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ gangbuster ‘swag-on-a-budget’ tune Thrift Shop hit Australian airwaves like a meteorite, and with good reason. The super-catchy, somewhat chuckleworthy single has been tipped as a hot favourite to take out number #1 on triple j’s hottest 100, but it now has some stiff competition.

IGN Entertainment recently posted their own adaptation of the track, fit with an official full clip, that is set to appeal to a different market – gamers. Titled Game Shop, the track is essentially the same, keeping a similar skeleton to the original but focusing on – you guessed it – buying video games.

The song is riddled with pop-culture references, dating all the way back to 007 Golden Eye on Nintendo 64, which was everyone’s jam back in the day. What’s more, the track actually gives some decent hints on how to get good games for cheap. Check it out below.
