Watch Paul McCartney Team With Dave Grohl To Perform A Beatles Classic

In a match made in rock n’ roll heaven, Beatles legend and disturbingly frequent Kanye West collaborator Paul McCartney has enlisted the help of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to perform a rendition of the Fab Four’s early-era classic I Saw Her Standing There.

Macca sent fans into a feeding frenzy after wheeling out the Foos frontman as a surprise cameo during his gig at London’s iconic O2 Arena. And while past collabs between the two rock icons have seen Grohl seated behind the drum kit, this time the Foo Fighter joined McCartney up front to play guitar and sing along on the chorus. Something he seemed notably excited about in fan-shot footage of the performance (below).

But Grohl wasn’t the only rabbit that Sir Paul pulled out of his hat during the concert. The kacky-handed rock pioneer also treated fans to a live debut of his schizophrenic, synth-driven, krautrock-inspired track Temporary Secretary from his McCartney II album, which was released a whopping 35 years ago.

As well as performing together at the 2009 Grammy Awards, McCartney and Grohl also famously teamed up to record the Grammy-winning song Cut Me Some Slack, which also featured Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear, for Grohl’s acclaimed Sound City documentary.
