If you think we had reached peak saturation point of the Oscar-winning song Let It Go from Disney’s 2013 animated movie Frozen, then perhaps you hadn’t considered the possibility that grunge legends Pearl Jam would eventually cover it.
At a gig in Milan, Italy during an extended version of their own track Daughter, the alt rock pioneers tacked on a cover of the new Disney classic with Eddie Vedder, father of two girls, lending his own signature vocals to the emotionally earnest ballad.
While Vedder seems to strain slightly trying to reach the higher notes achieved by Oscar-winning performer Idina Menzel, the song’s inescapable chorus does follow on quite seamlessly from the emotional track Daughter.
Watch fan-shot footage of the unlikely cover plus Pearl Jam’s full Milan performance of Daughter along with Just Breathe below.
