If you’re a fan of The Killers, and even if you’re not, you’ve probably heard the band’s new song Runaways, the lead single from upcoming record Battle Born, due out September 18, 2012. Although Runaways has been online and on radio rotation for a couple of weeks, there has been no official music video until now.
The clip is a polished but fairly simple affair, made up mostly of the band performing Runaways while the setting around them changes from a stage to a rooftop to a mountaintop, broken up with footage of a road lit up by headlights – all very rock star-ish.
As for what fans can expect from the overall sound of Battle Born, The Killer’s vocalist Brandon Flowers told BBC’s Zane Lowe that the band is aiming to improve on their strengths.
“I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we’ve done well and really hone in on that… We don’t want to make Hot Fuss 2 or Sam’s Town 2, or Day & Age 2,” Flowers explained.
