The Weeknd enlisted the vocals of Lana Del Rey for Prisoner on his massive album Beauty Behind The Madness, but until now the pair haven’t had the chance to perform the track live together.
As Spin reports, The Weeknd (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) brought Lana Del Rey (real name Elizabeth Woolridge Grant) on stage during his show at The Forum in Los Angeles earlier this week, to perform her sombre, vintage verse.
The Weeknd is a huge fan of Lana Del Rey. He told Pitchfork earlier this year that she has “inspired” him.
“She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music. It’s just this ghostly collaboration that feels the most natural on the whole album,” he said.
Beauty Behind The Madness also features collaborations with Kanye West, Labrinth and Ed Sheeran. Last month, The Weeknd brought out Ed Sheeran to perform Dark Times with him at a concert in Toronto.
Beauty Behind The Madness recently helped The Weeknd nab seven Grammy nominations, including nods in the prestigious Album of The Year and Record of the Year categories.
