Whitley Is Back With A New Single, New Album And New Headlining Tour Dates For July

As if the inclusion of Whitley on the Splendour In The Grass 2013 line up didn’t excite fans enough, the recently resurgent Melbourne-based artist has now announced plans for a new single next week, a new album in June and a run of tour dates in July.

The second coming of Whitley was made public during a rather amusing in-transit chat with Bedroom Philosopher Justin Heazlewood, which you can check out below. In the vid, he openly discusses plans for a new album, titled Even The Stars Are A Mess, which has been locked in for a Friday, 5th June release date.

You won’t need to wait that long for something to sink your teeth into, either – the first warning shot, single My Heart Is Not A Machine, will be fired into our soundholes next Monday, 27th March.

Whitley (aka Lawrence Greenwood) broke free from the shackles of indefinite hiatus earlier this year with news he would be performing at Splendour In The Grass 2013, and now we know this won’t be his only return to the live stage, with a run of headlining tours involving folk-pop songstress Esther Holt kicking off mid-July. His usual musical cohorts will join Whitley on stage, where they will perform songs both old and new.

Tickets to the tour are on sale Tickets are on sale 9am, Monday 27th May. All the dates are below.
