“I Wish To Be Water”: Kanye West Is Writing Philosophy Book

Kanye West is assembling a collection of his philosophical musings into a brand new book.

During a piece for the Hollywood Reporter, the hip-hop sage, Arts Ph.D holder and potential future president of the United States revealed that he’s currently balls-deep in penning a textbook of his original thoughts and teachings.

Tasked with interviewing the guy who helped design the interiors of his home with wife Kim Kardashian, Axel Vervoordt, the rapper dropped the casual bombshell that Yeezy:101, the potential future syllabus  for university arts undergrads of tomorrow, is well on the way.

Hold on to your brains.

“I’m writing a philosophy book right now called Break the Simulation,” he remarks. “And I’ve got this philosophy — or let’s say it’s just a concept because sometimes philosophy sounds too heavy-handed.

“I’ve got a concept about photographs, and I’m on the fence about photographs — about human beings being obsessed with photographs — because it takes you out of the now and transports you into the past or transports you into the future. It can be used to document, but a lot of times it overtakes [people]. People dwell too much in the memories. People always wanna hear the history of something, which is important, but I think it there’s too much of an importance put on history.”

Intriguing stuff coming from a fella whose wife is basically the Patron Saint of Instagram.

Speaking of Kim Kardashian, West goes further to suggest that society 500 years from now will perhaps look back ipon the Kardashian-West’s work for guidance.

“Even with my wife, I see her as a representation, as a Marie Antoinette of our time,” West tells Vervoordt. “So with your mentality with spaces, I believe that what we’ve been working on will represent humanity for the next 500 to 1,000 years.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kanye discusses the success he’s found with his Yeezy line and Adidas, before quickly veering off into more profound musings, remarking that he envisions a classless world where his wisdom can be accessed like… a utility? A global NFP? Huh?

“We do these sneakers that sell out and we get, ‘Oh, this is the number one brand on Women’s Wear Daily.’ And I don’t wish to be number one anymore, I wish to be water,” he says. “I wish to be closer to UNICEF or something where I can take the information that I have and help as many people as possible, not to just shove it into a brand.”

The Gospel according to Yeezus, people.
