Adelaide’s Getting A New Summer Music Festival, Packing A Lineup Of Aussie Icons

John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite, The Black Sorrows, Russell Morris, Ross Wilson and Swanee are the names that adorn the bill of this year’s One Electric Day festival, which is coming to Adelaide for the very first time.

It’s great news for the City of Churches, which usually gets hit with the bum end of the stick when it comes to music festivals and big touring acts.

While Adelaide’s future Soundwave prospects remain in doubt, and the jibes of Smashing Pumpkin Billy Corgan continue to sting, its punters can draw solace from the fact that this summer, their city is the first to get a dose of the One Electric Day festival outside of its home town of Melbourne.

The event first launched in the Victorian capital in 2013 and has since spawned three sold-out events, and organisers expect the 2015 Adelaide concert, set at the picturesque Elder Park on the River Torrens, to be no different.

“I am excited to bring ONE ELECTRIC DAY to Adelaide for the first time, especially to such a magnificent venue as Elder Park,” says promoter Duane McDonald.

The festival lines up eight hours of jam-packed live entertainment from some of Australia’s most revered and iconic acts, including The Voice himself, Farnsy, on Sunday, 6th December.

Tickets go on sale from 9am on Monday, 10th August. Check out the full details below.
