Alice Cooper will return for another visit to Australia alongside hard rockers Mötley Crüe this May 2015, when they bring their last-ever world tour, The Final Tour, to Australian audiences.
Cooper confirmed the May tour while speaking to Triple M presenter Eddie McGuire in Phoenix. “Every time we get a chance to go down there we go, I love it down there,” Cooper said of touring in Australia. He added that his current touring band “is the best band we ever had.”
Alice Cooper will also be supporting Mötley Crüe on their 34 North American shows later this year, which the band have confirmed will be their last ever. Their final show is set to take place in their home city of Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, Thursday 31st December.
While Mötley Crüe have already sorted out the legalities of their impending break up, Cooper told Triple M he had other ideas for the band’s final send-off.
“They finish up in the United States on New Years and they said that’s their last gig,” Cooper said. “I said, ‘Yes, I know because if it isn’t I’m going to kill you.
“I told them, ‘why don’t you let me kill you on stage?’ That finishes everything,” he joked. “Four guillotines, floomp done. Auction off the heads on stakes.”
The Crüe last toured Australia in early 2013 alongside KISS and Thin Lizzy, while Cooper was last on our shores in 2011.
