Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ World Tour Is Making Bucketloads Of Money

It will come as a surprise to no one that Beyoncé‘s live show is popular but it is somewhat surprising just how much money her tour is making.

Bey is currently in the midst of her Formation world tour off the back of her sixth album Lemonade and it’s already one of the top selling tours of 2016.

According to the concert promoters Live Nation, the tour grossed $123 million just from the US and Canada leg with nearly one million people attending 23 sold-out shows,. It was so popular that the last four stops of the tour grossed $26 million alone.

She’s currently on tour in Europe but she’s not done with the US yet. She’s due to return on 7th September and perform to more sold-out crowds which will push her attendance number well over a million.

The Formation tour is still in its infancy and is yet to travel anywhere outside of Europe and the North America/Canada but there are hopes that she will extend it to Asia and Australia.

She’s still got work to do to become the top grossing tour of the year with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band currently in the lead with $170 million. Taylor Swift’s 1989 world tour was the highest grossing tour of last year, surpassing the $200 million mark.

Meanwhile, Lemonade is one of only two albums released this year to sell over a million copies in the US this year. Drake’s VIEWS is the other.

Basically, Bey’s bank account is looking very, very healthy this year, not that it wasn’t already.
