Bonnaroo 2014 Lineup Announced

The lineup for the 2014 Bonnaroo Music Festival has been revealed, with Kanye West, Elton John, and Jack White set to headline. The extensive lineup features some Australian muscle in the forms of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Cut Copy, John Butler Trio, Vance Joy, and The Preatures.

Bonnaroo launched in 2002 in Manchester, Tennessee, with an initial focus on folk music and jam bands, quickly growing into one of the US’ most eclectic and treasured festival events, with past lineups featuring acts as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, and Radiohead.

2014 will see the return of Mr West, six years after his notorious performance at Bonnaroo 2008, during which the rapper was booed by hordes of angry punters after showing up two hours late for his set at nearly 4:30am, for which he blamed stage logistics and a late-running Pearl Jam.

Sir Elton will be making his way down to Tennessee following the release of his thirty-first studio album, The Diving Board, unveiled last September. Meanwhile White will be making his first Bonnaroo appearance since performing as a member of The White Stripes in 2007.

Other notables, besides the solid Aussies, include Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill, Phoenix, the Flaming Lips, Vampire Weekend, Ice Cube, Arctic Monkeys, and Neutral Milk Hotel. As always, there will be several of the event’s “Superjam” sessions, including one to be hosted by “Skrillex & Friends.”
