Cancer Bats have announced some Australia tour dates for this July on the back of their new album Dead Set On Living. They’ll be playing three dates in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney over one weekend from the 13th until the 15th.
Their new album sees them at their most ferocious, as the band once again utilise the legendary Vespa Studios with producers Eric Ratz and Kenny Luong. Dead Set On Living brings yet another dimension to the Bats’ menacing style of thrash-tinged hardcore rock.
Thematically, the album has been described as a strong focus on the bilateral relationship of dark and light, destruction and construction, life and death. The title track, for example, refers to a close friend of the band who ended up in the hospital in serious condition, only to have the experience cement his will to survive.
Fontman Liam Cormier says he cannot wait to get down here, exclaiming: “Australia is one of our favourite continents to RAGE! We can’t wait to come back and go fuckin nuts!”.
