Childish Gambino Is Coming To Australia In 2018, And Fans Are Freaking Out

UPDATE: Childish Gambino Announces 2018 Australian Headline Tour Dates

ORIGINAL STORY: Childish Gambino (real name Donald Glover) has announced his triumphant return to Australia, and fans can’t handle it.

Glover has just been announced as the headline act for the upcoming third edition of Canberra’s Spilt Milk festival, going down this November.

While no sideshows have been announced just yet, Glover is also bringing his three-night PHAROS festival to New Zealand in November. It’s unclear if he’ll bring the festival across the ditch, but fans are freaking out at just the idea of seeing Glover anywhere in Australia…

Glover last toured Australia as Childish Gambino back in between 2016 and 2017, when he performed as part of Falls Festival. He didn’t play any sideshows during that trip, however.

Prior to that, Glover performed as Childish Gambino as part of Listen Out festival in 2015. He was scheduled to perform two sideshows during the festival, but one was cancelled and the other show saw him booed by fans for a show which some attendees called “unprofessional” and “very disappointing”.

While Glover has been announced as this year’s Spilt Milk headliner, organisers haven’t said he is exclusive to the festival, so it’s safe to assume he’ll probably perform elsewhere in Australia when he arrives down under.

Glover is expected to end his Childish Gambino project following another major release, but it’s unclear if that will be an album.
