Dave Elitch Confirms He Won’t Play With Killer Be Killed At Soundwave

Dave Elitch, drummer for Soundwave’s recently announced supergroup Killer Be Killed has confirmed he won’t be playing with the metal supergroup while in Australia for Soundwave due to scheduling conflicts with his other band and fellow Soundwave act Antemasque.

Confirming comments made by Killer Be Killed vocalist Greg Puciato last month, Elitch took to social media to confirm that it will not be logistically possible for him to play with both bands at the festival as they are playing on different days.

Elitch said the scheduling conflict was not Soundwave’s fault “by any means”, adding, “These things are extremely complicated on multiple levels.” He also told one disappointed fan, “If I could clone myself, I would.”

Puciato has already revealed that Ben Koller from Converge will take up sticks duties for Killer Be Killed at Soundwave 2015. Speaking recently about the lineup switch for the Metal supergroup’s live debut, Puciato said he didn’t want to sacrifice a good Soundwave time slot so that Elitch could play with both bands.

“Antemasque for Dave is a much bigger commitment, they’re playing a lot of shows all the time. If he needs to do that, that’s fine with me,” he said. “Ben from Converge is a fucking animal so it’ll be cool to play with him.” In the same interview, Puciato also spoke about the supergroup’s plans to film their Soundwave set, because “who knows when this will happen again?”.

The day splits for Soundwave 2015 have already been revealed and draft timetables, subject to change, are expected to drop tomorrow Friday, 9th January. Fans are also expecting the addition of another “brand-new supergroup” to the 2015 lineup, though it is not known when this will be announced.
