Download Festival Could Expand To Australia

There’s a chance Download festival could be coming Down Under.

Permission to crap your pants granted.

It’s still early days, but the juggernaut English festival’s own booker Andy Copping has told Aussie fans to “watch this space”, prompting gossip that the festival could be about to expand to our shores.

While Copping hasn’t confirmed any solid plans yet, he says metal fans have reason to hold on to hope.

Not to mention it would be the perfect time for Download to launch a bid for the Australian market,t now that heavy music fans are searching for something to fill the gaping hole left in their lives by the death of Soundwave.

And if you’re familiar with Download then you’ll know that it annually boasts some of the most impressive lineups in the world, and this year is no exception, featuring a metal fans’ wet dream of headliners including Iron Maiden, Korn, Rammstein, Black Sabbath, Deftones, and Megadeth.

After being held in its home at England’s Donington Park every year since 2003, this year will also see Download expand to France for the first time ever.

Also a good sign.
