EMI Petition Arcade Fire To Tour Australia

Proving that record labels sometimes do really have fans’ interests in mind, EMI Australia have taken the surprising step of launching a petition aimed at getting Arcade Fire to tour Australia.

Signed to EMI, the Grammy Award-winning Canadians recently announced a lengthy world tour that will take them across the US and Europe, but have so far neglected to included Australia in their plans. The label have therefore set up a Facebook page (not a real petition then, with knocking on doors and hanging around outside supermarkets) for fans to get behind a push to bring the seven-piece to these shores.

Arcade Fire have been to Australia just once before, when they toured in early 2007, including an appearance at Big Day Out. At time of writing a grand total of 130 people want Arcade Fire to come down under, which will just about cover the cost of the tofu in their rider.
