Equipment, New Music Stolen From Pond On US Tour

Perth psych rockers Pond are currently on tour in the US and this week they lost thousands of dollars worth of equipment and countless hours of new music after their van was broken into in Portland.

“Hey Portland!! We had a pelican bag of gear stolen from our van,” the band wrote on Facebook yesterday. “If ANYONE knows ANYTHING we’re willing to offer a CASH REWARD for any information – we’re desperate for the hard drives as they have countless hours of music and effort stored!!”

Local publication the Portland Mercury reports the bag belonged to Pond’s “sound guy” and it contained hard drives with live recordings from the tour that Pond planned on using for future albums.

“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE spread the word and talk to your mates and let us know how you go,” continue the band in their Facebook statement. “PS. no questions asked for anyone with any info or esp if they can come up with goods.”

A few weeks ago, Pond announced the January 2015 arrival of their highly anticipated sixth album, Man It Feels Like Space Again, describing the record as “a sweeping collection of warm, warped psychedelic gems”.

They are scheduled to be back in Australia at the end of this year for the Beyond The Valley festival and Lost Paradise, hopefully with their equipment and music rightfully back in their possession. They’ll also play St Jerome’s Laneway Festival in 2015.
