The Falls Festival lineup for 2012/2013 looks like it will be revealed very soon, and just like last year, we’ll probably get the bands in small announcements. Organisers have let people know via a question on their Facebook page that they will be announcing acts as they come, and that it could start happening anytime now. Last year we saw the lineup for each event swell almost up to the days of the events. Additional information has been released on the ticket ballot, which will also go on sale towards the end of July.
Recently we also found out that the Marion Bay leg of the Falls will now continue after philanthropist Graeme Wood came to the rescue when it appeared to be doomed by lack of funding from the Tasmanian government. Organisers had asked the state government for $350,000 to ensure the survival of the festival, but were turned down after receiving $900,000 over the previous nine years.
Speculation as to who will be appearing has already begun as there could be a few names, including the Ting Tings, who are apparently playing two festivals this year (Falls and Southbound), and Sleigh Bells who say they’re coming out here soon on their new album.
