Flume Smacks Justin Bieber…Off The Top Of ARIA Chart

Written by Mike Hohnen on February 4, 2013

Fast becoming the prince of Australian EDM, Flume is also earning a different nickname for himself – Slayer of Tween Buzz Acts. Or something along those lines. That seems appropriate given that he has now usurped both One Direction and the great Justin Bieber at the top of two Australian charts, after today knocking Bieber out of the #1 place on the ARIA album chart.

The Biebs thought he had it all under control when he released Believe Acoustic (the acoustic verson of his Believe album, just in case some of you hadn’t got there yet) but he was no match for Flume, who experienced solid polling in triple j’s Hottest 100 and is currently nailing it on the Laneway Festival circuit.

Flume shifted more than 7000 copies of his self-titled debut last week, which casts a shadow on the measly 6411 units Biebs sold.
Flume entered the charts again today at #1 with Biebs at #2, according to News.com.au. This comes not too long after Flume took out One Direction from their comfortable spot at #1 on the iTunes charts, much to the dismay of many One Directioners.

So, yeah. Suck it, Biebs. We here at Music Feeds would like to wish Flume the best of luck in ridding the charts of such filth. Godspeed, son. Godspeed.
