Arizona’s Gin Blossoms, or perhaps more commonly known as ‘the band who sang that Hey Jealousy song’, have announced plans to make their first ever trip Down Under, bringing their 90’s nostalgic goodness to our stages in February.
Having conquered the early 90s after seamlessly transitioning from a local garage high school band to a platinum-selling outfit, the band struck gold with a series of hugely successful singles, including Found Out About You, The Empire Records soundtrack Til I Hear It From You, and yes, of course, Hey Jealousy.
Much like many of their peers, adapting to the fast-paced late 90s didn’t go so well and Gin Blossoms hit a very long hiatus before returning in 2002 with a series of shows around the US, and again in 2006 with a brand new album. Major Lodge Victory, as it was titled, saw two more songs from the outfit reach the charts, with both Learning the Hard Way and Long Time Gone hitting the top 40.
The last we heard from the band was in 2010, when they released their most recent album No Chocolate Cake that contained a little ditty known as Miss Disarray, which saw the band get to #1 on Amazon. And now, fast forward to 2013, the band will be bringing their well-rounded perfect pop sensibilities to our shores for some good ol’ fashioned 90’s mayhem. Check out the dates below.
