Gingerfest Is Back In 2015 With A Kick-Ass Punk Rock Lineup

After a super successful inaugural event last year, Australia’s punk rock festival Gingerfest has announced its 2015 return on Saturday December 19th, and it’s packing a raucous, kick-ass lineup of punk rock goodness.

The all day event was born to honour of one of Australia’s most dedicated punk rockers, the late Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber, known to friends in the Australian punk rock scene as ‘The Ginger Ninja’, because of his “spectacular mane of ginger curls”.

Heading this year’s lineup are diesel-fuelled rockers Gay Paris, Newcastle ska punks The Porkers, Sydney melodic punks Irrelevant who will be reuniting just for the occasion, as will Sydney ska punk outfit The Mad Dash.

The lineup also includes Melbourne’s The Sinking Teeth, art rockers The Stiffys plus Frenzal Rhomb’s Jay and Lindsay who will be entertaining everybody with their Jay & Lindsay’s Variety Hour.

“Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber aka ‘The Ginger Ninja’ dedicated his life to punk rock, so it’s only fair that we dedicate our punk rock festival to his life,” explains festival organisers in a statement. “Celebrating Nicky’s life through music and this festival is one way we know his memory will live on.”

Proceeds from Gingerfest 2015 will again be donated again to Vision Australia as well as reinvested into funding future local punk rock events. Catch the lineup and ticketing details below.
