The Maynard James Keenan-led supergroup A Perfect Circle have headed off on their first US tour in six years and at their first show last weekend they debuted some brand new music.
The new track is called ‘Feathers’ and the band, which features Billy Howerdel, Matt McJunkins, Jeff Friedl and former Smashing Pumpkins member James Iha performed it at their show at The Pearl in Las Vegas.
On first listen ‘Feathers’ sounds like it’s going to slot in nicely with A Perfect Circle’s existing catalogue, characterised by a building crescendo throughout and ending with a minute of beautiful harmony by the whole band.
According to comments by Howerdal last month A Perfect Circle are set to release new music later this year that could very well come in the form of a new album.
For those waiting for new music from Keenan in the form of an album from Tool, the band recently teased a date in June. as a potential date for new music.
