Listen: Tom Waits And Keith Richards Collaboration ‘Shenandoah’

Written by Marc Zanotti on January 9, 2013

Tom Waits and Keith Richards have combined their mighty forces on a track by the name of Shenandoah. The song is the first single taken from actor Johnny Depp’s pirate compilation Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys

An American folk song, Shenandoah is delivered in gut-wrenching fashion from Waits and Richards. It’s not hard to imagine a lonely seaman longing for shore or a drunken sailor who’s made port and is at the bottom of a bottle, lost in a foggy haze of sad memories.

As reported by The Music Network, the double-disc album is expected out February 17, and boasts an almost unfathomable cast of characters, including; Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Patti Smith and Beth Orton.
