Man Suffers Life Threatening Injuries From Fall At Soundwave Brisbane

A man was critically injured at the Soundwave Music Festival at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds yesterday after falling from the top of a 5m staircase.

The 23-year-old man has undergone more surgery today after suffering massive head injuries caused by the fall from the top of a staircase at the exhibition hall.

According to the Courier Mail, the man had only just entered the building when the accident took place, and it is believed that he tried to slide down the railing of the stairway when he overbalanced and fell backwards.

He had hit his head on a mobile cold room, then landed headfirst on the floor. Police say the young man may have been affected by alcohol and drugs.

The man is still in a critical condition at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
