Nirvana’s classic Nevermind album will be released as a deluxe reissue for its 20th anniversary. The box set will be released on September 19th and it will include a ton of bonus material.
The box will include four CD’s, including rarities, B-sides, BBC interviews and unreleased recordings. It should also include a DVD which will have an entire unreleased live show.
Nevermind was Nirvana’s sophomore album. It had low commercial expectations from the band’s label (DGC Records) only predicting to sell around 250,000 copies. But due to the popularity of the first single Smells Like Teen Spirit, the album exploded selling millions of copies world wide and brought the underground alternative music scene in to the mainstream.
Universal will also continue to celebrate the release of Nevermind throughout the year with various events and bonus releases.
