Pitbull Reaches ‘New Lows’ To Make Instore Walmart Appearance

Nothing screams a successful career like having to associate your brand with a chain of super-stores just to get some publicity, no matter how little publicity it may be. Oh wait, I got that wrong. Replace ‘Successful’ with ‘Desperate attempt to hang onto a’.

Pitbull has found himself in a position where the wisest career move on the table was to slap his mug all over Walmart stores to promote a competition. The store that gets the most ‘likes’ on their Facebook fan page will win an appearance from the Miami rapper.

What was already a terrible idea seems to have gotten worse, with the crowd favourite to win being a particular Walmart located in Kodiak, Alaska, which has seen temperatures of -27’C, and is located approximately between ‘Nowhere’ and ‘Vast Frozen Emptiness’. It’s the kind of place known really only for its large population of bears. According to Billboard, The Kodiak Walmart [Fanpage] had more than 35,000 ‘likes’ on Monday, more than five times the town’s population. This puts the store head and shoulders above the other stores on the list.

This will be the first time Pitbull has performed in Alaska, and should the store win, it will be the result of a cheeky campaign from a writer for The Boston Phoenix newspaper, who thought it’d be funny to send Pitbull to the most remote Walmart possible, and therefore encouraged people to ‘Like’ that particular outlet.

Mr. Worldwide, as he calls himself, **rolls eyes** made light of the situation by tweeting:

But we all know the jokes on him. Hopefully he falls in love with a local and never leaves and we never hear from him ever again. Agreed?
